Hyderabad Airport Achieves Record Cargo Growth In 2024

Hyderabad: GMR Hyderabad International Airport witnessed remarkable growth in cargo operations during the calendar year 2024, handling a total of 1,80,914 metric tons of cargo. This included 1,08,520 metric tons of international cargo and 72,395 metric tons of domestic cargo, reinforcing the airport’s status as a vital logistics hub in India.
Throughout 2024, the local airport sustained its growth trajectory, operating flights to over 20 international destinations through an extensive network of passenger and freighter services. The airport emerged as a critical export gateway, with pharmaceutical shipments making up 72 per cent of total exports. The United States and Europe remained the top export markets, collectively accounting for 51 per cent of outbound cargo.
Qatar Airways and Turkish Airlines continued to operate wide-body freighters to Doha and Istanbul, respectively, with Qatar Airways increasing its freighter frequency on the Doha route from two to three weekly flights starting February this year, in response to rising cargo demand.
